Ultra Streetfighter IV: Decapre’s Alternate Costume Revealed

Gladiator Decapre.

Capcom just released the artwork today for new character Decapre’s alternate costume in Ultra Streetfighter IV. The look for the character is an even more twisted, exaggerated take on the masked, psychotic assassin, featuring a full face mask, chains, padlocks and leather straps. Kinky! It actually reminds me a bit of Painwheel from Skullgirls with a little bit of Lulu from Final Fantasy X.

The costume was designed and drawn by Udon, who also did the alternate costumes of the four other extra fighters in USFIV, and is designed to give her a ‘fantasy’ feel.

While these alts haven’t been seen aside from the concept sketches/art, I assume we’ll be able to get these outfits with the game when it releases later this year. I also assume they’ll look a lot better in-game. Hopefully. The game releases in June 2014 on PS3, Xbox360 and PC.

To get a larger version of the artwork, head on over to Fighter’s Generation.

Ultimate dream or worst nightmare? You select.

The Ultra Streetfighter IV train keeps rolling with this new spot showing off a feature that’s sure to please (or terrify) quite a few fight-fans. A newly-revealed feature in USFIV will allow you to select a version of a character you wish to play- from the original Streetfighter IV to Ultra. So now you don’t have to put up with all the nerfs or balances your particular fighter got in Ultra- just go back and use the version you’re comfy with! Not sure though if this will go down well in tournaments, but at least indeed- it will make for some awesome match-ups. Check out the trailer above for all the details. More as we get it then!

UPDATE: According to Capcom’s Blog, this feature will be offline-only.

Elena Gets a Trailer for Ultra Streetfighter IV

SPINNING BEEEEAAT!!!

Capcom has been quietly but consistently releasing character-centric trailers for their upcoming Ultra Streetfighter IV. The past couple of weeks it’s been for Poison and Hugo. This week, it’s for Elena, who’s really the only one of the four (known) new fighters I really like. I am glad that she seems to be getting really cool and effective moves that make her a lot more viable than she was ever before. Anyway, it is also pretty awesome for me that with her arrival, the SF3 Ladies Trio (with Ibuki and Makoto) in SFIV is complete! Heheh.

Anyway, next week will surely bring Rolento’s spot, then after that… the reveal of the Unknown New Female Character. WHOOOOOH. Who will it be? Will the Fighting Game World collectively Groan or Cheer? Two more weeks then- Gah, let me Groan already now.

Ultra Streetfighter New Mechanics Revealed

Capcom adds a bit more to their current fighter’s build.

It was leaked quite recently, but now the info dump has been confirmed as true. Capcom’s upcoming new version of Streetfighter IV, named Ultra Streetfighter IV, will have a couple of new gameplay mechanics. Red Focus is a super-charged Focus attack that will absorb more than one attack at the cost of meter, while the Ultra Double option gives your fighter access to both of their Ultras in a fight but with lowered damage.
Both of these new gameplay tweaks will still be tested out and subject to fan feedback in upcoming location tests for the game.

A minor bit, but cool- Yoshinori Ono tweeted some time ago that they are currently looking for a designer and producer for a NEW fighting game. This unknown new beat ‘em up will still be on current consoles, as Capcom seems apparently still reluctant (or unable?) to jump into Next Gen. Kinda sad, but also kinda cool bit, I think.

I’ll keep on the lookout for this. Ultra SFIV is set to come out on PS3, XBox360 and PC sometime next year.
